Our Team

Judah Zakalik, Esq.

Judah Zakalik has extensive knowledge and experience starting and operating different businesses that undergo rigorous government compliance and ethical scrutiny. Specifically, he has founded a successful cannabis cultivation and dispensaries in multiple states, and, a law firm and a real-estate holding company in the State of Nevada. The ability to operate successful businesses in the highly regulated areas of law and cannabis require the utmost of ethical standards, adherence to complex regulations and attention to detail.

Specifically, Zakalik, in 2014, started and now operates a medical and recreational cannabis cultivation business in North Las Vegas, Zion Gardens. At Zion Gardens, Zakalik provides financial guidance and investment, as well as, general business oversight, with an emphasis on legal matters related to regulatory and compliance issues. Zakalik is proud that Zion Gardens remains solely in the hands of the same individuals who comprised the original ownership application in 2014, and is 100% minority owned and operated.

Judah Zakalik, Esq.

Later, Zakalik maximized the opportunity of being a cultivation licensee when Nevada opened its next dispensary application period and was able to garner five dispensary licenses in the State. Zakalik’s strong presence in the Nevada cannabis industry has been recognized by others as he was recently appointed to be on the initial Board of Directors for the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Cannabis Policy Institute.

In addition, Zakalik was the impetus and driving force behind an application for and winning of an Illinois Social Equity Dispensary license for the Chicago-Elgin-Naperville region of Illinois. Zakalik researched and sought out the Illinois social equity partners, negotiated that agreement between the partners and drafted the bulk of the dispensary application. In those efforts, Zakalik was able to score 100% of all the points his group was eligible for on the Illinois application, which was paramount in garnering the valuable license. Additionally, Zakalik is also part of vertical business model application in Florida (a highly sought after social equity “Pigford” application).

In the legal arena, after working as a corporate litigation attorney for about 5 years, Zakalik founded Peters and Associates, LLP (“PandA Law”), a Nevada law firm that has been honored by Inc. Magazine as one of Top 5000 fastest growing private companies in the country and it has won Best of Las Vegas Gold for multiple categories for the past several years, as well as, earning a Better Business Bureau A+ rating. Zakalik started PandA Law with no budget to speak of, and has grown it into one of Nevada’s most successful and respected law firms. In this role, Zakalik not only advocates in the courtroom and advises clients, but he manages the operations of his law firm, including the marketing, budgetary and legal/ethical compliance aspects.

Personally, as an attorney, Zakalik has earned the highest rating from Martindale Hubbell (AV rated – Preeminent) based on peer reviews, has been named a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 4 years running and has been named one of Las Vegas’ Top 40 under 40. Zakalik and his law firm has held the highest of ethical standards and has had no bar discipline, ever.

Zakalik has demonstrated a continuing commitment to the communities in which he operates his businesses. His service to the Las Vegas community includes being on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association and on its Heart Walk’s Executive Leadership Team. Likewise, he is a founding advisory board member of the Vegas Golden Knights’ Center for Excellence, an organization that provides opportunities for on-ice sports to children and families that may not have access to such activities. He organizes, donates, and/or volunteers his time to assist Toys for Tots, The Tony and Linda Bonnici School Fund, American Legion Post #149, Opportunity Village, the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Association, CASA, Boys and Girls Clubs, Red Cross Heroes, Salvation Army Kids, Discover Charter School, Southern Nevada Goodwill, NPR, The Raiders Foundation, and The Children’s Miracle Network. Additionally, he has been involved in Teaching Gardens at local underprivileged elementary schools and has volunteered as a “practice dummy” for self-defense classes for abused kids, teens and women.

Alyce Harris

Alyce has been a resident of Las Vegas for 17 years. She received specialized occupational training in banking and compliance as part of the Gifted and Talented Educational program from Foothill High School in Redding, California.

Alyce found her passion within the realm of compliance and audit in her first banking job in 1996. This passion propelled her to continue her career in finance, always within an operational and regulatory role. These skills have been honed within various heavily regulated industries which has given her exposure to multiple levels of government regulators related to the banking and financing industry over the years.

Alyce began working within the cannabis industry in January 2017, effectively managing operational compliance. Her primary role as Director of Compliance is responsibility for compliance matters for the facility related to regulatory issues to ensure compliance with Nevada Department of Taxation, Cannabis Compliance Board and North Las Vegas standards and she communicates regularly with these regulators related to cannabis establishment compliance matters.

The heavily regulated and transparent industry standards are highly attractive to her continued efforts to normalize and standardize the cannabis business. Integrity and truth within the cannabis industry are two of the motivators that fuel her, along with her own respect for the plant. As a migraine sufferer, Alyce was able to forego pharmaceuticals and medicate (and alleviate her suffering) using only cannabis. She is determined to help others understand the medicinal benefits of cannabis use.

Alyce is a strong advocate for financial literacy, and she has donated her time teaching K-8 students along with being “Principal for a Day.” She regularly participates in Susan G Komen breast cancer walks, Toys for Tots, creating sack lunches for the Ronald McDonald house children. She enjoys volunteering her time at nursing homes, interacting with the residents, and helping staff as needed. She is a strong advocate for the LGBT community.

Alyce joins in GRNBAX ownership’s enthusiasm for bringing more diversity into the cannabis industry. She sees and experiences the commitment every day in her workplace and looks forward to being a part of these continued efforts.

Perry Martin

Perry Martin, a 33-year-old who has had an extraordinary journey from college baseball to the cannabis industry. His passion for baseball began at a young age, and he excelled as a player throughout high school, ultimately earning a spot on a college baseball team.

Perry’s talent and dedication led him to play baseball at the collegiate level for four years; ultimately becoming a junior college All-American before moving on to the NAIA level. However, like many athletes, Perry experienced injuries and chronic pain from the wear and tear of the sport. Despite undergoing various treatments for pain management, he quickly found that traditional methods fell short in providing relief and hindered the ability to continue playing baseball at the desired level.

With his baseball career coming to an end, Perry faced a crossroads. He had always been passionate about cannabis and its potential for pain relief, so he decided to pivot his career towards the emerging cannabis industry. Armed with his knowledge of cannabis as a pain management tool and his entrepreneurial spirit, he set out to make a difference.

His journey in the cannabis industry began April of 2018, where he worked for one of the biggest Muti-state operators in the nation. Starting as a “bud-tender” he quickly climbed the latter and become assistant GM within 2 years and ultimately GM by year 3. (One of the only minority General Managers at the time!)He received numerous testimonials from customers who found relief from chronic pain and improved their quality of life through the products that he recommended.

From helping people find an alternative to opioids, to a solution for having a good nights sleep, or even a way to reduce anxiety are just some of the wonders that cannabis helps with.

One of the core values that Perry carried with him to the cannabis industry was teamwork. He understands the importance of collaboration and leveraging the strengths of others to achieve a common goal. While surrounding himself with a diverse team of experts, and fostering a collaborative work environment where everyone’s input was valued. He believes that a strong team with a shared vision CAN accomplish great things.

He is also part owner of a minority owned/operated cannabis management company based out of Las Vegas, GRNBAX Management!
